Absence

The absence tab shows two different overviews of the total absences in the company. The first view available is the calendar overview. Like in the project plan the calendar is split into weeks and the corresponding dates to each week can be seen by hovering the mouse pointer over the week number:

The different absence types can be seen in the upper right corner of the calendar, the different absence categories are divided into color codes:

When you've turned on the color codes the calendar is represented this way:

The absence report option allows you to sort out the different types of absence based on category. These absence types can be defined on a company level under setup > absence setup > absence types.

Absence types

By going to the absence types tab you can see all of the currently made/active types for your company. In there you are able to register new types, modify current ones or delete if you'd like.

By clicking edit one of the absence types, the following window will appear:

Firstly, before we do edits to our absence it's important to know the functionality of the different settings for absence types. These will be explained in detail below:

Choosing yes for paid absence will make the hours count towards the total amount of hours worked. An example would be a paid sick day.

On the other hand, choosing no for paid absence, then the hours will not be added to the hours worked (including paid absences) total. An example would be taking time off in lieu.

Using absence types in hour registration

In this section we will show how absence types have an effect on banked hours and how these are selected in the time registration window.

In the following example we can see how working overtime affects banked hours in Moment. Here we register 10 working hours on an employee who originally only is supposed to work 7,5 hours. In this case, he acquires 2,5 hours to his total banked hours:

Now, how will a paid sick leave affect his totals? We need to remember how these are set up in Moment:

According to the settings above, sick leave will not have an effect on banked hours. Let's see this in practice:

As the example shows, there are no effects on banked hours and the settings worked as intended. What if the employee chooses to take his overtime as time off in lieu? Let's have a look at the settings for compensatory leave (avspasering):

The settings tell us that the hours should count as part of the employees billable goals, and that they should be deducted from banked hours:

From the short video above, we can see that the compensatory leave settings are working as intended. Due to the 2,5 hours compensatory leave we registered, the employees banked hour balance is now zero.
